Calling all adventure-seekers, fitness enthusiasts, and anyone who’s ever dreamed of powering a dragon boat across the water—mark your calendars for April 26, 2025! Japan Dragons is thrilled to announce our Newbie Day, a trial session where you can dive into the world of dragon boating, no experience required. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just curious about something new, this is your chance to grab a paddle, join a crew, and feel the thrill of the water.
What’s Newbie Day All About?
Picture this: a crisp spring day at Kallang River, boats lined up and gleaming, and a team of friendly paddlers and professional coaches ready to show you the ropes. Newbie Day is our way of throwing open the doors to dragon boating—a sport that’s equal parts power, rhythm, and teamwork. On April 26, we’ll be hosting a hands-on trial session where you’ll learn the basics, hop into a boat, and experience the rush of paddling in sync with a crew. No prior skills needed—just a willingness to try something awesome.

What to Expect
- Meeting Time: Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM
- Meeting Points: Stadium MRT Station or Kallang MRT Station
- Start Time: 2:00 PM
- Location: Kallang Dragonboat Nursery
- What to Bring: Comfortable workout clothes, water, and enthusiasm (we’ll supply the paddles and life jackets!)
The day kicks off with a warm welcome and a quick rundown of dragon boating essentials—think safety tips and how to wield a paddle without accidentally launching it. Then, it’s straight to the water! You’ll team up with our experienced paddlers for drills, practice syncing, and maybe even a mini race to cap it off. Expect a bit of splashing, a lot of laughs, and that unbeatable feeling when the boat surges forward as one.
