our
history

Established in 1999 as the Okinawa Dragon Boat Club, we proudly hold the distinction of being Singapore’s first Japanese dragon boat club. As active participants in the International Dragon Boat Community (IDBC), we have consistently engaged in charity events, competitive races, and social activities, regularly participating in major events organized by the Singapore Dragon Boat Association (SDBA) and competing both locally and internationally.
In 2014, we transitioned to our current identity as the Japan Dragons Boat Club (Singapore) to more accurately reflect our mission of sharing Japanese culture and values with a broader audience. This rebranding marked a significant evolution in our journey, aligning our identity with our goals. Our commitment was further recognized in December 2022 when the Japanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry Singapore (JCCI) officially acknowledged us as an IDBC club team, solidifying our dedication to the dragon boat community and our vision.
